325e Hesitation

Hi! I have a '87 325e with an auto that just started to have a hesitation issue. Quick history: I changed out the center bearing 3-4 days ago, and the car has functioned fine since then. Don't know if this is related or not, but it is the only change I've made recently. Anyway, the car just started acting up on the highway. It runs fine, but sometimes if I try to accelerate from around 60-65, it just ignores the push. If I put it to the ground, it picks up right away. Also, if I put the tranny in 'S' mode, the problem goes away. any ideas?

does the car pickup revs but moves no faster when you do this? im struggling to see the problem, sounds relatively normal to me. the gearbox should only kick down if your foot goes to the floor. im assuming you mean 60-65 mph not km/h? if your talking about mph, then it wont have much push at the best of times, the engine only puts out 120hp ish at the flywheel and that was 25 years ago
