With that level of equipment, it may be a decent price. Manheim auction values are scarce, however they range from $48k to $61k, but not sure on options.
Remember, Manheim prices are the hammer price. You have to add auction fees, transport, reconditioning and dealer profit to get market price.

I am not sure but guys you can't find these anywhere close to 55k optioned like this, also there is no 2012 left over units to be had that are optioned like this, I have been looking for a month
One member got 12k of sticker on a 2012 that's still around 67k and that's a rare find. It's real hard when comparing these cars, msport and all the options change the base price by 8-12k also big difference in price from 550 to 535 or 528 The guy who posted about Mannheim is right from what I heard. Let me know is somebody is seeing any of these near 50-56k I have not found anything not a single car. As far used I will take a 1 year car with 10,000 miles all day over a new one and leasing is not for me. Deprecation on these the first year is absurd, even if you paid invoice in low 7o-73k range you lose 15k in year 1. I try to find 1-2 year old cars loaded with low miles where you can hit a sweet spot and drive it a few years 2-3 and still have great value. With rates at 1.49% with penfed. It's not that bad and it gets you in a high end vehicle like this. |

Listen, a used car is worth what someone thinks its worth. You seem to be pretty set. I don't think it's a bad deal.
I would certainly ask them about CPO. If they say no, ask why. If they say price, tell them you will pay their cost for CPO. If they say something else, tell them you are worried a out the history of the car. Since this is a BMW dealer, ask them to show you the full service history (FSH). Tell them to run a diagnostic and update any required software. If they do that, tell them you will buy the car. Walk in with a check from Penfed for the asking price plus 1/2 your sales tax and ask them to cover the title, license and other 1/2 of the tax. Or try for the whole thing. Odds are they will ring you up. When shopping used, you either have to be very patient until the perfect car / deal comes along or pay a bit more when you find what you want. Go for it.

So in reading this I ask myself, why would they have a 2012 with only 10k miles? Doesn't this scream buy back?
I don't know, just asking. I always lease so it's never a used car.

IMHO, if you are within $1500 and it is the car you want, you can't find anything in the country close to it, buy it. You can ask for an extended maintenance agreement, but if they are stuck on $58.5 they may not go for it. I am not big on CPOs. They are nice but not the best extended warranty out there. I use Mercury as they will, for a small fee, cover the iDrive. CPO doesn't.
Good luck and keep us posted.

I don't think a bmw dealer could risk there reputation reselling a buy back that's not on the carfax. Pretty sure all buy backs need to be documented on title? Car looks brand new.

Why the emphasis on cpo? Isn't it better to buy a non cpo and add the platinum bmw warranty on the car?
I'd rather find a good deal on a car and buy a better extended warranty .

but I agree, if you're willing to pony up for the cost of the cpo and they still refuse, they are hiding something. Body work = disqualified from cpo

Which brings an interesting point...if it's a demo, it's not titled - so it's not eligible for CPO since it's not "pre-owned". I believe the warranty is supposed to start from zero at the mileage you buy it, though, as compensation.

2012's were being produced up until the end of April, so add in shipping time and sitting on the lot for awhile and this car could be not more than a few months on the road. So, no it doesn't scream buyback. Even if it was on the road for a year or so, plenty of people don't drive a lot of miles. Think stay at home Mom, second car, etc.

Ok guys found out about about the CPo. Dealer says its not cost effective they can do it but want 3,000 to do it. They said the car has 10,500 miles and is 12 months old and they don't feel it's necessary. Any thoughts.

when i got my 2011 535xi pre owned they offered to cpo it for 3k as well, i declined as the car had under 15k miles and less than 2 years old. The fact they they offered to cpo it for you should give you some peace of mind.
