Help!!! Transmission Malfunction?
Alright guys so I bought this care about a week ago from texas and drove it home to colroado the car ran great the whole way... now that i am home it has been problem after problem.. So two days ago i must have left a light on in my car. when i went out in the mornng the battery was dead, I called my roadside to have them come give me a jump, As soon as he did that Two lights popped up
1st light - Transmission Malfunction 2nd light - Steering Wheel lock malfunction The car is a 2007 335i coupe with 43k Please Help!!! Last edited by boxing119; 01-01-2013 at 03:11 PM. |

Battery tested? Look around, recent posts on the subject. Also, you may have nailed why it was for sale. |

No this just happened and the dealership hasn't been open since, the thing is none of these lights were on until the jump start
|

jump start may have been done wrong. should have charged battery. maybe charge battery, disconnect for a few then re hook up.

More than likely your battery is shot. You don't need to use a BMW battery and can use a good auto parts battery. Do some searching here and you can't miss at least 5 battery posts in the next 3 pages of threads. Once you get the battery replaced you need to have it registered as BMW uses an Intelligent Battery System (IBS) which needs to know the battery has been replaced to use the correct charging algorithm. More than likely your lights will go out after two cycles unless your jump starting crossed the plus and minus but if they did you would see a lot more issues.
What you are seeing is pretty normal for a BMW that is 6 years old... |

Get a BMW one its warrantied for 2 years so even if you don't get it registered and it borks it will be replaced
