E30 (1982 - 1993)
God's Chariot. The E30 was produced primarily from 1982 through 1991. The cabriolet was the one exception which was produced through 1993. |

Next is to address the interior.
Door panels are nice, but dirty. ![]() ![]() Same with rear seat... ![]() Minty dash. ![]() Broken glove box. That note pad in there has all the dates and mileage of everything that's been done to the car from 40k miles, right up to it's current 360k... ![]() Front seats, meh. ![]()

The sedan has been on DD status still, but it's currently being driven by one of the guys at the shop while we cage his e30 chassis for Spec e30. Only thing done to it is test fit the LTW flags that are going on the other Spec e30. We are building three Spec cars, one is almost finished and will be racing Oct. 6th at Sebring Raceway
![]() Here you can see the Delphin crew lol. Car in the middle is ChumpE, one of our friends built it for Chump Series and has 3 4th place finishes, two of those races were on a broken rocker arm after just a couple hours in! The one on the right is my shop helpers daily. ![]() The Zinno car got a 3.73 and a 120k mile m20b25, timing belt/pump, new fuel pump, new battery, and some nicer front seats we scored. ![]() ![]() And here's how my old coupe sits. You can see the height difference in the strut towers. Thought about using the shell for my Spec car, even purchased a cage, but it was going to cost more to straighten the frame than to find another shell - the roof buckled between the passenger door and sunroof and the door jamb is slightly bent, that was the deal breaker ![]() ![]() The white car next to it is getting an m52, and this is the OBDII s52 swap that was in front of the Zinno, been daily driving since that pic... ![]() Lots of projects floating around in the shop at the moment.

Red car has a running swap, seats installed, new Guibo, timing belt, pump, plugs, the original fuel pump was locked up so I put the one from my car in it and that one only lasted a couple starts and locked up. Going to drain the tank and check it for deposits before putting in a brand new pump.
Oh, and had this cabby dropped off last night. It's getting out of hand now, this is the 5th e30 I currently own. The Delphin car, the pink car, the red car, the sedan and now the cabby... ![]() ![]() I have been maintaining this car for about 3yrs with the previous owner, so I know it well. Has almost no miles on the new Bilstein Sports, even. |

Sold the Zinno car. Buyer was very happy. Had originally wanted to use it to build a Spec car after the damages on the Delphin coupe were too expensive to repair, but once I got it on the lift and saw how perfect the shell was, didn't want to rape it and make it a track car. So I still went through with the iS swap and this local young man bought it from me as his first car. Even had to walk him through shifting a manual since he had never driven one lol.

Well, my neighbor had a frame expert over at his shop to estimate a frame stretch on one of his cars. For giggles, I had him look over the carcass of the Delphin car and to my surprise, it's going to cost a lot less than expected to straighten it. It's going to be resurrected! It has a Certificate of Destruction title, so it can never go back on the street, but that's fine. Already bought a cage that was going to go in the 4dr, but instead will go in the 2dr. Glad I saved all the body panels, now to put the interior in the 4dr and start piecing the 2dr back together and cage it!

Well, sold the vert to another first time e30 owner, but took the brand new Bilstien Sports off and stuck them in the sedan - that was about a month ago.
Last Saturday, my guys at the shop volunteered to help me out and get the 4dr track ready for Homestead next weekend. So, swapped in a manual, made coils, changed the brakes, flushed the g260 with Redline. ![]() ![]() ![]() Saw this mod on a website. Wrap your selector with solder to weight it. Can't tell if it did much because I also made brass bushings for the lever and installed a short/short throw lever. ![]() Slotted rotors, Pagid Red pads. ![]() Shoe-less! ![]() One of the employees posing with the auto-tragic. ![]() Had to use my old XXR's on the front. The 205/60 on the weaves almost touched the strut tubes in stock configuration and rubbed once I put on a new sleeve for the spring adjusters... ![]() Now you don't see it, ![]() ...and now you do. ![]() Then I called the wife. We were working on the car from 10am to almost midnight. She was out having a cocktail with her cousin, so I dropped in. It was 2 for 1 at the pub, when the girl asked me if I wanted a large mug, I said sure, not thinking I was getting half a gallon of Guinness. Walked in the pub, dirty and all.

Hey, as far as the parts being pricey, have you tried http://www.pelicanparts.com/bmw/cata...30_catalog.htm?
They have a huge selection, and most things aren't ridiculously expensive! |

Still working on it. Since I had to take the rear seat out to change the fuel pump o-ring, swapped the seats from my coupe in it.
Check this out, think it was done? lol ![]() Minty seats... ![]() Cleaned the carpet a bit. Will probably use the front section of carpet form the 2dr when the dash is swapped, the 4dr carpet has a lot of stains. May try shampoo since there are no tears, just a lot of spilled coffee from the PO. ![]() Installed, still dusty from storage... ![]() ![]() ![]() Also made a battery tie down for the track this weekend. ![]() Changed the fluids, will post more pics when the decals/track numbers are finished later tonight

Sure, it was a test run for the local graphics guy (KDVinykgraphics).
Track weekend was awesome! The BFG G-Force tires turned out to exceptional street tires on the track. Will have to sort the pics/video and get them posted, but the sedan did great. The engine is in excellent condition, the coils overs I built performed great, with minor front end scrubbing, but stiff springs, stock sways with links mounted on the control arms caused some pushing through corners. Was really fun going on both NASCAR straights and turns 3&4 on Homestead Speedway, though. |
