Electric door locks

1990 BMW 735iL: When nice / warm out, unlocking & locking works fine. When cold out I try to unlock the car, nothing moves. I had to break into my own car to get going (fortunately I did not activate the alarm).

I took the panel off; cleaned the inside of the door, locks, & window tracks.
