The Burger JB4 is a very nice horsepower/torque improvement. It changes the car even in D.

Having the same issues in my X1 with the N20 engine. I'm fed up. The car is too new to wait for: 1) any acknowledgement from BMW, followed by 2) any attempted fix. We get honked at in intersections because the engine won't budge for a full second after depressing the accelerator. It's dangerous too. So after some discussion on the X1 forum I decided to order the BMS tune - really, really hoping it addresses the problem.

I had my car updated to 2.48.2 last week and so far, the delay is gone.

Sorry to hear that you have the same problem, but I'm not surprised that the same issue crosses multiple models (the new x3 has this problem as well) because it uses the same platform (with the 8spd transmission).

Yes, the hesitation can be a hazard when it comes at the wrong time.

The BMS tune will help for sure, but it's stupid that we have to fork out money to fix their problem.

To me, this just confirms further that it is transmission programming, not engine related.

Doesn't seem to be the transmission programming because even the manual has the same problem in the F30 328i.

But yes, it's not the same engine, so it's not engine related either. Seems to be more related to the electronic throttle programming?

By the way, is it done under the SIB 12-17-12? But I think that only updates to 2.48.1? Or it depends what version the local BMW shop has? I want to make sure I get the latest. Thanks. I'm running out of fuse for this car.

The SIB sates it was corrected in 2.48.1 release, so the dealer applying the SIB has to use a minimum of 2.48.1.

If you go to your dealer, they will only have the latest, and since 48.2 was released in November, no dealer in January will still be running 2.48.1, so you will get 2.48.2 if the SIB is applied today.

Thanks. So does it make any difference whether the same SIB is applied on 2.48.1 vs 2.48.2? Not too familiar with bmw software, but I assume with a later version, other stuff besides the engine response is patched?

I just had my car reprogrammed with version 2.48.3 a few days ago, and if the Dinan flash works today I will be getting the car back today.

I suspect this version is wildly available...

Are these SIB updates specific to the F10 ECU or to the F30 as well? my apologies if this is an ignorant question...

If you read it, you will see that it is specific to N52T / N55 engine with 8HP45 Transmission and that it effects F10, F25, E70, E71, and F07 up to a certain production date (2/29/12 or 3/31/12).

Just got the update today, and car does feel better, but fingers crossed. My i-step number is:

F001-12-07-520

I wonder if this is 2.48.1 or 2.48.2

I demand it whenever my car is programmed. If you have already picked the car up, I doubt the technician saved it.

Let assume for a minute that F001-12-07-520 was accurate, it would be from July 2012, which would make it between ISTA/P 2.47.0 and ISTA/P 2.47.7.

But, this is unbelievable. I assume you got F001-12-07-520 from reading the Profile Export .xml file, and this is not accurate and can not be used.

As I wrote, the only way is to read the ISTA/P Measure Plan (Final Report), or connect with E-Sys and Read I-Step Current from CAS Module.

Thanks Shawn, yes I got it from exporting the profile, which I guess is not correct.

Well they got to flash the dinah back on my car, and the car is in SOS state or I would have been able to get the confirmation on the software version for you guys... if they car keep the SOS code cleared it will be at least monday before I see it back now;

It happened to me too yesterday, so they had to keep the car overnight to reboot their systems, get the SOS fixed and reprogram my car. Everything seems fine today though.. hopefully yours will be too.

Just got the email saying they are now keeping it until monday to fix that SOS state... I'm sure its an easy solution, but sure seems like this car finds every error and likes to show off by displaying them for the tech working on the car!

I confirmed they printed off the ISTA/P report for me, I'll get it when I pickup the car... The tech confirmed the version 2.48.3 by email - I had asked if he installed 2.48.2 as I thought that was the latest version based on what I read here and he responded back to say "so no, and he installed a newer version of 2.48.3" - only way to be sure I guess is to check when the car is in my hands.
