Mein Auto: 97 540i
97 540i Towing Eye

Hello everyone, I need to have my 540 towed and when the flatbed arrived he called and said he couldnt tow it because I didnt have a towing eye.
Question: I know there's a tool set in the trunk, would the towing eye be included or is this a part that will have to purchased from the dealership?

Thanks in advance for all help.

Yes, towing eye is included in tool tray.

But The tow guy should be able to hook the chains somewhere on the front subframe and
that should work. THat area is 10x more rigid than the bumper.

I typed /toolkit F3 in the bestlinks ... and it netted me this:
- What is in the BMW toolkit (1) (2) (3) (4) (5) & what extra tool kit parts to get like warning triangles (1)
Please read the suggested threads and add value, either by pictures or by descriptions, so the next person stands on your shoulders.

front control arms have big yellow stickers that say "DO NOT TOW OR LASH" so you can pretty much guarantee that is where he will hook the cable.
