I was planning to use a couple relays to accomplish the automated switching, but I guess I dont know if there will be enough power to throw the relays and trigger the radio mute button, thus going with an extra power supply.

You said above that 13 and 14 were the Phone inputs for the Phone ... shouldnt there be four wires -/+ for right and left? Or is there a common ground? Are you splitting the mono signal from the j-box to each of the speaker inputs. Or is 13 and 14 a dedicated input for the phone and the internal system does it for you?

NB, I have the T720 kit coming in a week or so, and I just recieved my Motorola Bluetooth Car kit today. . .

I'm working on getting the housing and the pins today to connecto to the X400.

A ground supplied to the radio mute line mutes the radio.
Pin 13 and 14 are for the HK Traffic Pro NAV system radio. It's a mono input. 13 Low frequency input. 14 Ground.

My phone input pins 13 & 14 went to the CD changer. I have come up with no reason why. There is no measured resistance or signal there. I cut these lines and used them for my phone input.
His phone input connector pins 13 & 14 have no pins in it.
HK states the phone input feature, yet there are no pins in the connector to accommodate it. There is no way to get the pins either.
Does that make sense? It doesn't to me.
I assume that everything is a secret, or that the accessible people just don't know.
I have no idea why Becker NA/AG does this. You would think that they would want to make it easy for you to enjoy their product.

For all, I have more information re the HK Traffic Pro and pins 13 and 14. There is a special part that needs to be ordered. It includes the pins and ends in one RCA out. All of this comes with the Aux in kit. The two pins somehow turn into one RCA out, I'm not sure how. I wonder if I'll just have to hack off the RCA input or if there's a convenient radio shack way to mate to this RCA input...

As an aside, I plan on putting a hands free kit for the v60 (basically same kit at the T720 kit) in my m roadster. I've read this thread, but I'm a little confused. The antenna/telephone amp -- where is it? Does it use the standard antenna or do I need to order a different one? I imagine this replaces my standard antenna out back.

Are the pins that go into the 8 pin mating connector the same ones that go you order for the back of the radio or is it a different part number?

Have any of your looked into Bluetooth phones?

Sony Ericsson (and several others) have hands free aftermarket kits that will radio mute, amoung other things.

The S-E kit has a small controller you can mount to the steering wheel (no wire due to Bluetooth) that controls the phone for answer, hangup, or scrolling through the phone numbers programmed into the phone.

The S-E T68i phone which I have also supports voice prompt dialing of numbers in the phone.

the cell connector down in the console is a great place to tap switched and always-on power. if you tap the console bulb line you also have dimmed power.

Great write up, motivated me to do the same. I have all the parts on hand, though I'll be using a Grom adapter for the Bluetooth operation with my Business CD. One question though, do you have a measurement from a point of reference for the cut you made in the headliner? The template you show will be useful, just not sure exactly where to place it so that the screw hole lines up properly. Something like a measurement from the cabin light. Hope that makes sense.
