Tilt and Telescopic Steering wheel control

I replaced the drivers seat control module on my 2002 X5. The seat memory settings and steering wheel tilt and telescope controls were not working. I removed the old seat module and plugged in the new seat module. Now the lever on the steering collumn that is supposed to move the steering wheel, moves the drivers seat. What might I have done wrong? Is the steering wheel control separate from seat control module?

The seat module controls both the driver's seat & steering wheel movement...but I have no clue as to what is going on with your replacement module. You didn't mention any part nbrs either...did you check the part database to see if there are multiple numbers based on build date? Is your replacement module for the X5...or could it be for another model like the X3? Only ask because you didn't give any part nbr info.
