Nav Update 2013 comments

Hi all,

First of all, thanks to Shawn for the information on how to do the Nav software update, it was great!

Now, for those in Houston, I'm sure that like me, you will appreciate that in this new version of the navigation software Houston is finally called... Houston! Sounds weird? No. In the previous versions of the software, the stupid nav kept calling downtown Houston "Clutch City". Just typing it makes me cringe. Why the heck did they do that? Does downtown NYC show up as "Big Apple", or Chicago shows up as "Windy City"?

I guess that it was worth the price just to avoid seeing that stupid name on every address each time I use the Nav.

Alex, someone had to have been playing a joke on you - maybe someone entered "Clutch City" as a waypoint. I've never seen it on my nav!

Enter any address downtown Houston and you will see. For example, search for Advantage BMW as points of interest and you will see what I am referring to...

The old version did refer to the downtown houston area as clutch city...yeah it was little silly. The best thing about the 2013 version for me is it now actually has streets leading to my house that were not in the previous version.

Anyone see any changes in NYC aka the Big Apple?

Hey folks, new BMW owner, but not a new Houstonian. Are there any other relevant changes for the Houston are on the 2013 maps? I'm trying to decide myself if i should do this? (2011 550i)

Totally unrelated, but do Houston BMW folks get together? Are there meetups? If so, when was the last one/when is the next one? How about an "informal" one next weekend?

Haven't seen a Houston meetup since I moved here in Sept but definitely interested. Now that the holidays are over, good time to do a GTG

Hey, i'm suggesting an informal meet-up next Saturday morning. I'd like to get my car coded, and made some plans to do it, but that can happen after a meet up. How about somewhere central like Uptown Park plaza, by the Starbucks, like the old location of coffee n' cars. Let me know if you guys are in and we can meet up at like 9 am.

If we get a group together, I'm in. I live near Rice U, so that works for me.

I've been thinking about coding too. Is this something we can do in conjunction with a meet?
