I look for companies that are targets for takeovers. I made a killing on Metro PCS. I currently hold Leap Wireless (LEAP) in my portfolio. There are rumors that it may be bought out.

That company has $2.7 billion dollars of debt. Company stock is valued at roughly $535 million dollars and that is roughly at today's stock price of $7. Their debt is roughly 4 times stock value on market.

There's a bit of risk to get in at this time, but it could also be rewarding. Sprint's been a turn-around story in the past a couple years. I got in early so I had quite a bit of roller-coaster ride, but it's not till early last year that the market's finally see the trend turning positive.

Bottom line is, understand how Softbank buys the 70% of Sprint and see how much you value the company, at this point I think (again, that's just me) is around 6.5. It's been trading under $6 for a long long time.

The risks are:
- Churn resulted from shutting down iDEN
- Buying CLWR
- Improve LTE coverage and Network Vision progress

Very interesting and relatively heavy $10 Calls on Sprint traded today on different expiration dates.

I'm looking for strong volume to propel Sprint above $6...

LEAP will be bought out eventually, it's also interesting to see how it's been slowing climbing up since the dust have settled after TMobile-MetroPCS merger, as well as the transactions between Softbank-Sprint-Clearwire. Also take a look at USM (US Cellular), USM and LEAP would benefit in consolidation. It gave up competing with the big 4 on its home turf Chicago by selling its spectrum to Sprint and focus on rural area, so the management could be looking into exit strategy.

The day's still early. Besides S may or may not get above $6. It's just a theory from chart's perspective.

RIMM and LVS should be interesting this month. I am thinking RIMM takes another crack $14 and LVS at $55-60

RIMM reminds me of PALM before the launch of WebOS, the stock was trading at similar range, only to tank after the lukewarm reception of Palm Pre.

However RIMM has a pretty big user base, so maybe it would turn out differently than Palm this time.

Volume is back on S, it was down almost 20 cents in the morning along with VZ and T, but recovered well and ended up a penny in the end! Green hammer with strong volume baby!! Amazing, S has been going up in the last 12 trading sessions.

I'm cancelling Dish just because what this guy has cost me...

I don't think DISH can buy CLWR at all with $3.3 which doesn't look sincere to begin with, and that also proves to Crest Financial that CLWR doesn't worth what they think should be.

Will see if S can recover today and back in the green today.

LVS was up around 2.5% yesterday and up another 2.21% today as of now at $53.26. Yesterday it dipped under $50 which was a great time buy the dip.

True, it could make another run to 60.

MPEL is already skyhigh... too risky at this level.

I think this year is the top for this bull run that we have had for the last few years. Hard to predict when we top off but I feel that we are definitely within 5-10% at most of topping off and entering a bear market after.

If the market holds and does not crash then it should make its run to $55-60 but if the market drops then it will drop with the market.

What I am talking about...and hoping for

39K+ call and put contracts for S $10 Jan14 changed hands! What kind of strategy would it be?!

Up another 10% as of now. Possibility it runs to $20 from here. In bull mode now.

I doubt investors care what has already happened. If BB10 indeed launches at the end of this month and the momentum carriers forward for at least 2 quarters (which would be better than Palm's WebOS launch), then yes RIMM might survive, or else it would go down into history.

Long term, they aren't too viable but a quick profit opportunity may be available.

If you really want to wait till <$12, that means the current up-trend would be over, and you'd better hope it didn't drop below $11 which is about where the current 50MA is.

Again I don't think the up-coming earning call will have much impact to the share price.

I have been wondering how the market was going to play earnings this time around. Usually when earnings numbers are bad the stock tanks and earnings numbers can't possibly be any good for 4th quarter as Blackberry fans and newbies are all awaiting the new release of the new smartphones with the new OS10 and the bulls are already taking the lead with future BB sales which in my pinion should be quite good.

Provided that the stock market does not crash and 4th quarter earnings are not horribly bad this stock should see $18-20 in my opinion. $10 or less should be a good entry. Was good to get in the other day when I posted.

Let me check which day they report earnings first.

So here is our logic to being patient. It is threefold:

Apple had an enormous amount of call options speculation related to its Summer surge

A huge share of this was calls with a strike of around the current price of $550 and higher that expire January 19 2013

The institutional money managers that wrote those call options and bought common stock to cover will make a lot of money if a) those options expire worthless, and then b) Apple runs after that expiration date

Billions of dollars at stake if AAPL stays near or under $500 a share until January 19 and then makes a run after that. No tinfoil hat required to see the motivation here. (Via Loren Brichter.)

I would probably buy some February $550 calls then lol.. They always take the opposite side to the cleaners and either run up or down after.
