The 2011 is a first year model for the F10, it has its share of minor problems, steering vibration, tire bubbles, warp rims, tip in delay, etc................

The problems with the 2011's were generally early production vehicles. They actually had what many consider better configuration of options.

I'd agree with X. Although I have never driven a 2011, all the complaints here about the tip in delay (hesitation when accelerating) would steer me clear. There are lots of things I can put up with, but throttle delay is not one of them.

Thanks all for your responses. Is this "tip in delay" only happening on the early production 2011 MY. My cars production is April '11 is that considered early production. Please let me know. Also what do you guys think about the numbers of the deal.

Dont take the risk. There are plenty of cars out there - be careful to fall in love especially with a 2 year old car that only has 3K miles on it.

$45k for a 2 year old non-cpo car vs $58 for new ($51k for ED).
Even though the price is below KBB, if I was in the market for that car, I wouldn't be moved to purchase. Especially a first model. Just my 2 cents.

I might be a little coccerned with a car getting traded that early but you still have remaining factory warranty
Do your homework on the car & both prices you got to be real sure thata a lot of money for a used car |

I can't comment on the price or condition, but I can comment on the car since I own one that is a Jan 2011 build. It has more options as shown below and the MSRP was $73,000. The 19" LS2 tires that come with the iX sport package are a potential problem as you can see from the "Consolidated RFT Failures/Issues Thread" in this forum. A lot of us have changed the tires to a different size and have not experienced any more problems. At $400 or so per tire, you have to figure the cost into the price you pay.
The tire problems seemed to occur more in the 2010-2011 and early 2012 time periods than after that time. This may be because the tires were improved after that or the roads were improved (they were really bad in the winter of 2010-11) or perhaps some changes in the dynamic suspension were incorporated. You didn't list the dynamic suspension so that's not a concern. The tip in problem was not severe with my car and seems to have been solved with the latest software update. Whether you can get BMW to update your software is another question that is addressed in this thread. The update seems to have worked for me so far, but I don't have enough mileage since the update to be sure. If you like the throttle response of the car that you are looking at, then you don't have a problem. The steering problem was never there on the X-drive cars which in 2011 incorporated hydraulic steering instead of the then problematic electric steering on the RWD cars. The 2013 X-drive models incorporate electric steering, but I prefer the hydraulic version. I don't know which version the 2012 models have. Other than the tires, the car has been good to me after 18,000 miles and two years. If the price and condition are right for you, I would go for it. 535iX, Dark Graphite Metallic, Black Nappa, Dark Ash Wood, Anthracite headliner Premium Package 1 & 2 Sport Package Sport automatic transmission with shift paddles Dynamic Handling Package Active Ventilated Seat Package Driver Assistance Package Fold down rear seats Side and top View Cameras 4-zone automatic climate control Active ventilated seat package Cold Weather Package |

Just my two cents, but I have a 2011 535XI-M-Sport June build that has given me absolutely zero problems. Most trouble free car I've ever owned. That includes Lexus, Infiniti, Audi and other BMW models. I would not shy away from a 2011 with low mileage if you can pick it up at a good price. Just make sure it was built later in the model. Probably some good deals out in the market right now.

Thanks X. I know you told me to move on but the heart won out, I think the pocketbook also agreed. I did not get the wheel & tire ins. I am thinking of changing from the RFT's & get the Mich SS. Also getting the 351 wheels. I found take offs for $900 without rubber & no tpm. Any thoughts on the wheels & price
