Actually both schools are good in academics. Maryland will be good in basketball but suck in football while rutgers might be good if they can keep the jersey recruits

That was one of the better football games I have seen in a looong time. Just great football. Of course, it may help that I was ten hours into a smoked pork butt and that we were joined with good friends who enjoy a good game. But what a show.

I do not think the NC is going to be a lop-sided victory for AL, but I think they'll pull it out for the win. Give Saban 5 weeks of film and his boys 5 weeks to remember they are mortal. You'll have a well-grounded team despite returning to the 'big show' in back to back years. This has been AL's weak point, I think. Playing teams they expect to beat just like they did last time. You could almost feel it in the 1st half of the SEC Champ game (or A&M or LSU). Without any of that to carry them against a historic stalwart in Notre Dame, I think the Elephants will be ready to roll.

I expect a beat down.

This year there are only 3 decent bowls:

National Championship - ND VS Alabama
Fiesta - Oregon VS Kansas State
Cotton - Oklahoma VS Texas A$M

The rest are pretty weak with the Rose, Orange and Sugar bowls being some of the worst matchups in their history.

I am usually one to champion a "BCS Buster" like TCU, Boise State or Utah, but those teams were undefeated with significant wins over BCS teams. Northern Illinois lost to Iowa (who only won 4 games all year), they beat Army (3 wins) by one point and destroyed Kansas (1 win) by 7. However, because the Big Least and BIG10 champions were cr@p, NIU goes to the Orange Bowl. That deprives Oklahoma a BCS bid despite their only two losses being to Notre Dame and Kansas State.

The 4 team playoff in 2014 will be a tiny step forward. The BCS system has got to go!

That was even more deafening than last year against LSU. Wow. I will agree with the announcers on two fronts:

Bama mopped the floor with the Irish. Lacy was unstoppable. T'eo was awful. ND has a long way to go.
