BMW 3 Series 2013 Base Price Increased by $350 (US)

Earlier, it was $36,500
Now its -> $36,850
You can see this increase in price only when you build a 3 series.
The main page still says that the base starts at $36,500.




and this change is for all the 3 series cars.. (328 and 335)

Brutal.

There go all those 3 series sales.

Announced on November 5th in the Ask a Dealer forum. Does not apply to cars already ordered.

Are the plit fold down rear seats the increase? Now making it standard.

That was for all '13's from the start.

No. Prices increased slightly across the entire line.

Well now the car is out of my budget.

I'd rather see them raise the price than start sneakily de-contenting the cars.

Eh it's a 0.96% increase in the MSRP. Is that really a dealbreaker?

Everything goes up in price. Are movie tickets worth $13 given the quality of a typical Hollywood flick?

You charge what the market will support. That is how you make money. This should be a lesson to those waiting for "the deal". You are fighting a losing battle. Pricing will probably go up again modestly for the 2014 model year.

What's that supposed to mean? What are the quality issues with F30? Was E90 really problem-free for the first few model years?

No, the real question here is "it's remarkable how little BMW increased the price of the F30 considering the laundry list of standard features that you used to have to pay for." Some of which include:

-iDrive System
-LCD Screen
-Power seats w/memory
-Split & fold down rear seats
-Auto dimming exterior mirrors
-Auto dimming rearview mirror
-Universal garage door opener

Not to mention how much better the exterior and interior design is, how much more powerful the car is, and how much more configurable the car is. $350 for all that is a bargain.

well i was attempting to pose the question from an unbiased point of view. thanks for helping.

and fwiw none of the features you listed i would ever want. gimmicks, basically. i can use my friends iphone for nav. (no i do not have an iphone either, sorry)

so basically they are forcing you to pay for crap you might want, but others might not care for.

Where I live, they're only $10.50.

also, real BMW enthusiasts dont waste their time with crappy generation-D overpriced hollywood crap. they choose to spend their time and money at music halls and performance art, like me.

If power seats, dimming mirrors, and a garage door opener are not desirable features for you in a compact executive car, then you disagree with a vast majority of BMW's customers

Those are the kinds of things that $20k Kia shoppers are expecting to come on their cars these days. Not everyone just wants a box on wheels with a good engine.

1. The F30 is a $50,000 luxury car, not a $37,000 starter-car.

2. Those options are bare-minimum standard equipment that any buyer would expect in this segment in 2013.

3. If you don't want to drive expensive, luxurious status-symbols, stop buying them.
