I somewhat agree with that, Audi knows that BMW and Mercedes have a strong foothold in the US market. Breaking into the US will take a slow and long effect by Audi, and thats exactly what they are doing.
Audi tends to built what they can sell and not anymore. A good example is the Audi Q5, Audi had a shortage of Q5 in Europe for the first 2 years when it was introduce. Talking to some Audi dealers, they have only so many allocation from Audi each year. The dealers always try to get more but with no success. I guess you can either sell 10 cars and make a profit of $5000 each or you can sell 20 cars and make a profit of $2500 each, there is no difference. It just differ in which business model your company wants to follow. |
