The real question here is "are you serious???"
I enjoy the sarcasm on these boards but I can't tell if some of you guys are having a good time with the topic or if you are really, seriously complaining about a $350 increase.

$350 = 88 big macs at $4 per big mac.

its not the 350 that is weird, its the fact that economics aside, there really isnt anything about the car itself that warrants a mandatory price increase.

in fact, a lot of people would argue that it should be cheaper.

4 cylinders anyone

A lot of times it's tied to the cost of raw materials. The price of steel or oil can do.

Granted, that may not be the case here as steel and oil I think are the same or better than the first model year of '12.

But this can cause prices to go up with no link in added content.

I remember when we rotated back from the Philippines (USAF) to Fort Worth in 1969 we went looking for the heavily advertised BMW in Road&Track. It was a Sunday and we found the car lot, unpaved, full of small 4 cyl cars. Each and every car below the MSRP line on the window sticker had another line that read "Deutschmark Re-evaluation" and a hefty price increase. That did it. I didn't purchase a BMW until 2004.

350 increase, is actually less than inflation.

I think this is the second bump within the MY...the first was with MY change, but there were some equipment changes so it's a bit complicated to figure out.

Back in 12/2002, I bought my car for < $29K (less taxes and other fees).

Today, a base 328 no line retails for about $38K.

If I go here:
http://www.davemanuel.com/inflation-calculator.php
I find that $29K from 2002 should be about $37K in 2013.

I'd say it's tracking inflation pretty well.

Of course, there is much more standard equipment, but that is to be expected with advances in technology. Think about how much you paid for a PC back in 2002.

These following features that were made standard in the 2013 are awesome. I use them every day.

-Power seats w/memory
-Split & fold down rear seats

Nothing gimmicky at all about them.

-iDrive System
-LCD Screen
-Power seats w/memory
-Split & fold down rear seats
-Auto dimming exterior mirrors
-Auto dimming rearview mirror
-Universal garage door opener
Weren't the last five on the list added going from 2012 to 2013, courtesy of a $1600 price hike? This calender year price increase is a little unusual, assuming also a likely 2014 MY price increase.
