You've changed your name, and it looks like you've also changed your attitude!
Hope it all gets sorted out. You really do just have bad luck. These cars are awesome when properly sorted.

I'm all tapped out on project car funds and room right now, but if you buy it I'll help put an engine in it or whatever it actually needs. I'm actually planning to go to Sac this Saturday......road trip? ![]() Sent from my LG Revolution 4G using BimmerApp

I know you all are trying to help but you must have all the time in the world to tinker with your cars, but I don't, and since I have money to pay someone else to work on the car, that's what I'm going to do.

I think you've highlighted the disconnect here.
Most (if not all) of us regulars are in a different situation. We don't have extra money to spend on someone else's labor. We keep these fairly cheap cars and work on them instead. We also know what we're getting into. We don't get a car with unknown history and then lament when things break. We get one with proper maintenance records, or we do all of the preventative maintenance ASAP to keep problems from popping up unexpectedly. It's a real shame you found yourself a bad one, but we have little (or no) sympathy for you when you ignore our good advice. Everyone's situation is different, understandably. You have choices, though. Accept our advice or don't. Continue using the forums or don't.

You comment on that which you know not! I research every car before I buy it and this one I did also. I have the BMW Dealership records of every repair going back to it's first service. I have records of every tune-up, oil change, complete cooling system parts replacement, every a/c FSU change, every brake replacement and flush, every tire replacement, etc.
That is why I bought this 328i in the first place because I thought that since EVERYTHING had been replaced, some twice or three times, and by a dealer, I might get 50K more miles out of it. When I bought it it test drove beautifully, but because the A/C didn't work, I was able to get the owner to knock $ 500 off the selling price(I replaced the resistor for $70 with your guys help) The car then started falling apart. It's a lemon, they do exist. |

The next time someone tells you owning a BMW is expensive, think about this and you'll understand why they say that.

Some cars are lemons and some repair shops are also. When you are not willing to look for yourself where a large leak is - you are a lemon shops dream customer.

I'm gonna takes this ugly bag of snakes and lay em out straight for you.
You bought a BMW with all records of service, said car is in fact 15 years old. No matter how well a 15-year-old car is maintained it's still going to have issues that pop up now and then. There are two ways to deal with these issues. Pay a mechanic to fix them, or fix them yourself. If as you stated you have money to pay someone else to tinker with it, then go ahead and do so. But if you're going to do that then it is going to be more expensive. And coming on to a BMW forum and complaining about an "expensive" car that you pay someone else to maintain seems a little odd. The truth is, with a minimal effort your car would not be expensive to maintain. We could've helped you fix your problem at a fraction of the cost. But that effort was too much for you to put forth, So you paid someone else to fix it for you, doubling the cost. So in essence you are the one making the car expensive to maintain. All this means that I am at a loss as to trying to figure out why you would come to this forum to post the topic asking for help, then tell us you took it to a mechanic. On top of that you complained about BMW and their manufacturing and reliability. This would be like flying to London to complain about the British. I say this with absolutely no animosity intended whatsoever. We just don't want to waste out time helping someone who doesn't really want our help. This was dictated to Siri so any spelling mistakes are hers!

I ask for help with what's wrong so that when I take it to a mechanic I don't get ripped off because I have been helped to have an idea what the problem is. So I do get help from the forum.

So you are complaining these cars are expensive to repair.... and you pay a shop to fix it. Wanna save money? Do it yourself, otherwise stop complaining. These cars are well built. You just got a lemon, or at your cars particular age and mileage many parts are failing at once. Unlucky, yes. Reflective on the build quality of E36's? No.

OK, so you don't want to hear me complain about my car, how do I unsubscribe since I 'm selling it anyway, providing I can get it not to break for at least a week!

Look for a black cable coming from the back of your computer that goes to the wall. Pull it out.

Complain? No we don't. Ask for advice and follow it. We're here for you.
There is a button in your user CP that you can unsubscribe to threads. Make sure you do it for both user names though. That was a classic CJ.

No one here minds helping you trouble shoot issues, just don't lace every post with whiny complaints.
Seriously, we feel bad for you that the car has been this much trouble, but it's tough to have empathy when you act like that. Honestly, just trying to help you man. Sent from my LG Revolution 4G using BimmerApp
