Hey guys, I picked up a Sterling Silver 91.

She has 94K on her, all stock except for H&R Sports, Billy Sports, a SS muffler, Evo shift knob, ACS pedal set and aftermarket CD player. I am going to remove the pedal set and swap in the OE radio and shift knob.

Hopefully my cousin has time to take good quality pics once the car is detailed. Until then:

Thank you! Normal H-pattern. IMO the dogleg is great for the track, not so great for the street. In the stoplight grandprix the 1-2 shift is important

nice car! no heated seats but has an airbag which is interesting! also FYI E34 with the tan interior like this car came with tan armrest mount covers which could replace the current black ones. for some reason E30s only came with the black at least all original tan interiors ive seen

The interior is gray, mang I know that it looks tan in the pics though.

So, did some stuff to the car:

• E36 Timing Chain Tensioner
• Valve Adjustment
• Fuel Filter
• Air Filter
• Engine Oil / Filter (I went with Mobil 1 15W-50)
• M-Tech 1 Steering Wheel
• OE Head Unit
• Picked up a set of E38 Style 5s. Saving up for tires...

Had the injectors serviced by MEPEH. As it turns out, they were in pretty good shape - here are his remarks:

Rated at 240 cc/min, these came very close to 235cc/min and had great jet and similar flow rates.

1- 240 cc/min
2- 235 cc/min
3- 235 cc/min
4- 235 cc/min

Next up:

• Distributor Cap
• Rotor
• Spark Plugs
• Plug Wires
• Rebuilt AFM

Once these are done, fuel delivery and ignition should be tip-top.

Did you buy the shim kit to do your valve adjustment? Looks like she is being cared for nicely! We just did an Alpha-N and carbon airbox on an '87 s14, what a difference - keeping yours OEM/stock-ish?

Robert at E30 MotorWerks did the valve adjustment. He played a shell game that required two shims swapped. I trust only pro's for certain tasks

Awesome. Robert is a good guy. We will be installing one of his Spec motors in an e30 soon. You got lucky that it was just a swap of the shims, the kits aren't close to being cheap.

We will see about the 'fest, it's a hike for us - I am concentrating on getting my competition license this year, going to revive the Delphin car for Spec

The POs had taken good care of this car - the tensioner and valve adjustment were two items that were not addressed for some reason. Maybe because there are two schools of thought in terms of whether to run the stock TCT or use the E36 unit (the TCT was replaced with an OE unit at 60K). The valvetrain was relativley quiet - maybe an assumption was made that it was within range.

Robert said that the plug wire terminals were starting to corrode. I will drive this car less than 1,000 miles a year, so I figured I would replace the ignition parts now vs. waiting for five years.

Levent told me that when he was getting some dyno work done at Mark Welch's shop they noticed quite a difference in whp based on which AFM was used. He said that better AFMs showed as much as 6 whp improvement... he knows a guy in the PNW that rebuilds them, so off goes the AFM to be rebuilt. This may turn out like the injectors, where it needs little freshening, but just in case. If the barndoor is working correctly I will be able to ignore the Alpha N option.

To answer your previous question yes, this car will remain stockish. It has H&R Sports on it so I am going to do the RSMs. At some point I may do sways... nothing that is irreversible in short notice.

Over the weekend me and IMZ4N (Bob, who did the heavy lifting with the buffer) detailed the car.

I put in new Osram SilverStars and euro grills.

My cousin got a new camera... we are scheduled to take some pics of the car this coming Saturday.

Picked up a set of OE floor mats in silver. These are NLA,so I am super stoked to get them

May I know why you change out the airbag steering wheel? Is it because the airbag no longer work?
