Honestly, why even bother blanking the plates? This has been discussed before. There's not much you can do with a plate number. After all, you show it to hundreds/thousands of people every day on the road. I just don't see the point.

i think custom plates really make a car pop if your state requires them.

Vanity plates are very hit or miss with me.

1- You have some lame inside joke that no one gets except for you and 3 people.(HAMTYDE)
2- You chopped up the words so bad it can mean 10 different things.(ILKBGCK) (I Like Boston Green Cars, K?) (Gutter Minded...)
3- You are a complete tool and think of the plate as a way to show other people you are rich and/or have a fast car(IBEAT U)
4- It is a funny phrase or expression that makes me laugh(HRPDERP)
5- It's cool and isn't intended at showing your status, but just something you like(LOWERIT)

You have a 40% chance of me liking it, that's an F.

SC saw it as way to make a ton of money so you can get a truckload of different tags, college ones, charity ones, etc. Mine is for the CSS Hunley, the first submarine to ever sink a ship. It was raised in 1999 off the coast so they made a tag for it and all the money they make for the tag goes to the restoration. Same with the other tags, to college or whatever you chose. My wife has the endangered species one. 95% people still get the regular ones though. Mine looks like this

Well that's stupid. Why won't they let the vets have some fun with em? Meanwhile the ricers and everybody else can get whatever they please

I'm guessing yes. As well all know, the DOT wants as much money as they can possibly squeeze from you.

CA is having a vintage plate re-run. I'm trying to get my hands on a black/yellow plate with "MERITUS"

Duuuude, that's awesome! And for only $50!

Now if only they had the 87 Sunset plate. I don't have anything to put the old school plates on, but I'd order up a bunch of the Sunset plates.
