Glove box surprise

After poking a little deeper into my glovebox, I found 2 things: 1. that I do in fact have a CD changer and 2. There is what appears to be a dummy key clipped to the back wall of the glove box. Anybody know what that key like thing is?

Hi! your lucky this key normally disappears!! It is a spare key I used to carry it my wallet, it is only meant for emergencies, plus some other reasons I cannot remember, so cherish it !!!!!

Okay, but what I don't have is the key itself, just the plastic gizmo that it would go into.

Then order one!

Did you also know that you can remove the rear of the glove box compartmetn to reveal a fue box? There is a little spriing loaded button at the rear of the glove box that allows you to pullup the 2 inch back end of the storage area (below CD changer) which when removed will reveal a bank of fuses.

I have a cd changer but no magazine - replacement ideas?

Ebay, I bought mine for $25.

The cd changer comes in a 2010 528i???? Because I don't see it

How do you get to the cd changer... Can't see it..

What you found was a key holder not a key. Id you have the valet key (a small plastic key) it can be inserted there. If you don't have it you can order one from a dealer.

Obviously there is no owner's manual in the glovebox.

Many people have not opened their owner's manual (or downloaded one from BMW for free) based on what I see.

does the owners manual even fit into the glove box? The owners manual goes into the trunk just behind the right wheel well there is a "dent" in the floor, put the manual there and the floor is level.

Was that listed in the owners manual?

funny roseng - b/c the manual doesn't fit in the glove box, I found the same recessed area in the trunk the first week of ownership and have kept it there...
