iDrive Update

First post.

I have a late 2009 sDrive35i with professional navigation. At present it only allows 4 digit postcode entry. I have bought 2013 Premium DVD set to update maps but am getting conflicting information whether this will allow me 7 digit postcode entry. I am being advised that I will need to upgrade the firmware also. Are there any other advantages to updating the iDrive firmware?

Thanks for any help.

To my knowledge if you bought a genuine BMW disc upgrade you maybe okay, but it is true that to update some of the later model Z4 E89's BMW have to do some coding. The best thing to do is to ring and say you are considering and see what answers they give, just don't speak to a service advisor as they know didley squat about cars!!!! go into the dealership and try and get a face to face with a technician often you can!!!!! for a couple of mins at least!!!

Always said I would go back to a 6 series
