how to test fuel pressure properly?
spaghettidecoder is down and i cant find the bentley on my comp....
what is the proper procedure to test the fuel pump? i assume the pressure is taken at the fuel rail from the schrader valve but does the car need to be idling, driving, under load w.o.t.? and what is the accepted value? about 50psi in all situations? __________________

At idle it should be ~ 52 PSI +/- 2 PSI.
I got your PM's last week, wasn't ignoring you, been re-doing my network and building a new computer.

w/e man, ive been bizzy too.
shopping my new system! Ballin on a budget.... infintity basslink powered 10" on the way. Kicker component 5.2's and zx350.4 up next! so should it stay constant while driving? im wondering if i get bad pressure when im pushing it hard at higher rpms.

The pressure will only vary a few psi from idle to balls to the wall.
At a constant speed/load the pressure should stay the same.

ok thx. all i could find were people asking the same question but never getting an answer.
I found some old threads about long cranking that got me spooked. basic sympton is the car turns over a few times before firing but,,,,,,,,,, if you leave the key in pos2 for 5 seconds before igniting it will fire up instantly. my usual habit is to put the key in and buckle up while i wait for the wheel to lower then fire it up but i do know it takes longer to start if i just shove the key in and twist it.

Cross referencing to here in case people need the location of the test points:
- While replacing your spark plugs (1), where is the fuel system pressure test Schrader valve for the I6 (1) and for the V8 (1) (2) (3)
