Hey i'm not here to argue. If you think BMS is the best tuner out there then great. I don't agree.
As for how many tunes Hartge's done? For the F10 platform alone they have 13 different models listed. Here are before and after videos of *some* of the cars they've tuned http://www.youtube.com/user/hartgevideos/videos?view=0 Yeah so i'd say they know what they are doing when it comes to tuning BMW's. When BMS starts doing full engine conversions and have some racing history under its belt then we'll talk ![]() (btw those are all Hartge cars on the cover of those magazines) OP sorry to thread jack. Now back to regular programming.... Alan

In concept yes. The information the piggyback feeds back to the car can have a very direct impact on how the car drives and feels. Especially with how advance the recent bmw ecu's have been. Too much boost and the car will do whatever it can to cut power. This is why almost every tune Bms and Vishnu offers is called "beta". Everything with these two company is beta. Its like their disclaimer for when/if sh*t hits the fan.

+ 1 on Bodoxn and Alan L post. And, if you didn't get ARS (active roll stabilization) on you're car, you behind a few more points. How 'bout save the money you'd have to put into the 535i with dubious results and buy a used, purpose built track car for those weekends.

Yes. When updates become available its free of charge to anyone. The problem is when updates will be available for the F10 535/550. The 535 tune has been in beta stage for months now and i don't believe BMS aka one man shop Terry has any F10's to work on so i wouldn't hold my breath.

Alan, you and RambleJ are my goto guys when it comes to tunes. He has a similar opinion to yours on the BMS tune. He was talking to me about a company in CA (forget the name) that reflashes the ECU but you have to send it to them.

Between that and the front tag (I still have mine on) I thought you stole my car!I would have to disagree with you on size, its a matter of getting used to it. When I was the PCD I had some track time on a 550 and while it does take more patience and effort on the driver to put the car through its paces, the F10 is certainly capable. yes, a smaller car is probably always going to be easier but that is true of every car - a go-cart goes great around a track.

335i vs F10?
Moot point for original poster but the comparison can go on just for info and what-ifs?
Here's an amusing video:
