The radio goes out for a split second on my 6 series, and then it comes right back on. It looks like I'm losing current on my car, but only for a split second.
Anyone has experienced this problem or knows what it may be the cause of it?
I had this it sound of pops goes off then comes back on, I did an Idrive reset which helped but never got to the bottom of it, but it was so rare I just ignored or tried to work out if it was in conjunction with something else switching on!!
Tried this many times, did not resolve the problem. Does the same when i am in the phone. Any other solutions? Also, how do i switch the passenger airbag dash light off?
On a 2006, you have a CID - this is the computer that controls all of the iDrive functions. Here is a BMW factory parts company listing for original equipment http://www.getbmwparts.com/parts/20...=&searchText=navigation&startRow=11&maxRow=10 After you install - Then take the car over to your shop and let them code the new unit. Make sure that they have the optical interface / without it, they can not code. It's about 1.5 hours - the install is 20 minutes but remove your DVD and CD first ... if you can.
If the Nav system & the Radio do this early every morning, I would say you have a bad or weak battery. I saw mine do this for months before I changed the battery. After changing the battery, I have not seen it happen since! :dunno: I would never suspect a bad battery to do this, but this is a BMW!
I had the battery replaced last year, but I know that the 6 ers are very tough on batteries. Now every time i loose the radio sound the dynamic drive control warning comes on. driving me nuts.
Never had an issue with the battery. Did you go with BMW battery? When was the last time you had the software updated?
