Stupid navigation system

When I'm on the highway, the stupid NAV keeps telling me to stay on the left EVERY TIME there's an exit.

It is so annoying, is there any way to make her shut the f*** up with useless directions?

Personally I switch off the spoken directions and just follow the screen, mostly because of the repetitive nature of the spoken instructions.....it is all in the IDrive menu!!!!! But often it resets when you start the car so I nearly always say "guidance instructions off" via the verbal commands......

There was just an AP article on this subject over the weekend. Even though folks have on-board NAV systems, they're still using their telephones. Seems that telephone nav systems are easier to use and navigate, are more accurate, and are better with the traffic alerts. So, you're not alone in your frustration.

I've actually found a good compromise for BMW navigation that works great for me. I never have voice instructions on (never do with Garmin either) and unless I have a specific address I do a google search and send the location to the car rather than try to use the BMW POI which has always been a PIA for me.
