What's Under the Tree of a 6er Owner

We are both completly happy with our configurations. But neither of us does any real photo work or video editing. Pretty much email, surfacing, iTunes and some spreadsheet work. I think you would be happer with the retina display if only so you don't suffer from the "shouldagotB&Osyndrome".

I personnly do not see value in the SSD. I hear you on the external drive, but why not spend less and get more on board storage. Modern HDs are pertty darn reliable. I don't think you'll notice much differnce in the processor speed, but max out the RAM for faster audio/video work.

I agree with Soldes. I am not a big Rolex fan. If you go to Harrods' of London massive watch deparment (the only place I've ever seen a million dollar watch - and not becuase it was bejeweled) they put Rolex off to the side.

I would look at Zenith, Breitling, Baume & Mercier even Longines. But as previously stated, it's all about personal taste. There really are so many choices out there. Pick up a couple of the high end watch magazines. Do some research. You'll learn what you like.

I think I'm curious about the SSD more than anything. It does come standard with the Retina model, so I'm kinda stuck with that lol.

I'm debating about the 8 GB of RAM v. 16 GB. It might be overkill, but the whole thing is a bit overkill. Where do I draw the line with the nerd bling? lol

I'm kinda leaning toward Breitling right now. I don't have anything against Rolex, but picking it for my first real watch seems a tad predictable - kinda like if I were driving a 911 right now

Went ahead and bought it today. Pro with Retina, 256 GB Flash, 2.3 GHz i7, 8 GB of RAM. Thanks for the comments.

Very late to this thread (or the board at all, frankly), but I picked up a Nest thermostat over the summer. A silly thing, I guess, but we LOVE it. Highly recommended.

Regarding watches, I'm a reformed Cartier fan and a Panerai guy as of late, but they're all over the $3K mark. Maybe a Bell & Ross would be fun...

Aren't the "silly things" often some of the coolest?

As for the watches, I think I'll be playing tee ball for a while whilst admiring those of you who've gone pro.
