I mentioned it in the other thread, it has too much sharp lines for my taste. What do expect from GM? Trying to do too much to please. If it looks like a Tonka (Cadillac), people will buy it.

Have to agree with Dave for a change. Lots going on with all the crease lines, vents, and the quad pack of exhaust tips.

As a C6 owner, I'm not sure yet about the Ferrari-esk exterior but I am sold on the upgraded technology and the interior appointments. May take a year or two for the body style to grow on me, just as was the case for the C6, the C5 before that and the C4 before that...

I like it and, starting at $55K, it's a bargain as long as the quality is there.

I wouldn't even place it in the top 100 Chevrolets - first generation Camaros, C2 Corvettes, 55-57 Chevy two-door sedans and nomad wagons, etc.
It has a designed by committee look, with various elements borrowed from other cars, in no regard in how it all meshes together. The same guys that did the current Camaro seem to be involved, but even more over the top body-by-Hot-Wheels look. That said, I'm sure it'd be a blast to drive and a performance bargain.

Agree on too many vents, but otherwise could be really good looking. Would probably look awesome in gunmetal/grey/carbonschwartz

I was invited to the Manhattan debut of the C7 tonight. There were a number of classic Corvettes on display including a pristine 1953 that was purported to be the third one every built. There was also a 65 Sting Ray Coupe and a few 1970s "Mako Sharks". What were missing were late 50s early 60s "Route 66" era models.
The new model was very well received. I sat in it and the seats and interior are a huge improvement over the previous generation. There is enough luggage space for two people so it is practical for a two seater. I suspect it will be well received by the automotive press and will sell very well. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

I am overall liking this Corvette. It is the first Corvette design that has me interested. The square tail lights in pics from far away did not look that great. But up close you realize that they have more of a 3D LED look to them that is not all that bad.
The front hood vents could have been better designed and more stylishly integrated. I guess GM still has some learning to do from Italians in that regard. None the less despite all that to me this is much better looking then the C6, C5 and C4. If they keep the price reasonable I would actually consider this car in future.

I like it. I had a 89 vette. I didn't care for the c5 at all. C6 was good. C7 looks great. Gmail has generally done well with the vette. If they put that kind of thought into all their cars they'd be selling more. Esp their compacts.

For the exterior, it's mixed feelings for me. I like the C6 exterior, but this one looks like they put a Camaro, Nissan GT-R and a Ferrari in a blender. As for the drivetrain, I'm in favor of the new engine and 7-speed manual.
