Cooling System Advice Needed for 99' 540iA!!!

I have a 1999 540iA and have been trying to figure out what manufacturer makes the best and most reliable water pumps? Also which impeller is better to have, metal or composite? What is the opinions on Zionsville Radiators? Any advice will be greatly appreciated..I am getting prepared to put a newer engine and transmission in my 540i and just want to have the best and most reliable parts i can use.

Hey Alex,
I've researched the all aluminum radiator and its a must for a better cooling system in the 540i. I don't have it on mines yet but will do the conversion once I get the money together. There is a guy on YouTube that shows how he did it on his 530 I believe and u can see his electric fan setup too on his channel. Il post it once I find it. If I were u go with a manual trans if I can get ur hands on one but if u prefer auto that's cool too. I just think the manual trany is more reliable.

Go with metal impeller. Some composite impellers have been known to fracture. Graf is OK. Stewart makes the best (& most expensive) WP but I think it is only available for the I6. Search. Stay with the OEM (Behr) thermostat.

Since the question has been asked umpteen times before, many members are jaded, so you will not get the full response you would have liked.

However, you can start with the existing response and improve it from there, and, BTW, your payforward is for you to snap pictures of the old and new waterpump you decide upon and add value.
