More doors = more money. Aren't there more things like locks, window motors etc. for a 4 door equating to higher costs? The differential is $1,500 (640 vs 640GC), $1000 on the 650i. Pretty small difference. The GC is also longer - so you're getting more metal for your money.

Coupes will not work for me since I need to be able to get a baby seat in the back...

Congrats! I keep toying w/ the same idea myself. What sort of lease payment are you able to get (if you can share that)? Will probably make us all jealous though.

Any idea if e92 M3 EDs still have to come out of dealer allocation?

I'm guessing it would have to be more in the $700/mo. range... Besides the hefty discount of 5350 below invoice, there is no acquisition fee. Add in 7 MSDs, $1,500 lease cash, and $750 OLP, and it is too hard to pass up on. I plan on keeping this car for a long, long time.

I am so excited. My current M3 is great. I've been driving it for 8 years and I love it. But it is just time to take advantage of my position at work -- especially given my position with Bimmerfest. Now I need to figure out what to do with the E36. Now that it is supercharged, selling it in CA is going to be tough since the VF blower is not certified by CARB. Maybe a Bimmerfest member in another state will want it. The odo is just at 120k miles, and I have replaced/upgraded pretty much everything...

You plan on buying it at the end of the lease? Sounds like a good plan if you love the car.

My point was lost in translation. I was actually saying I do not think the 6 GC is worth the price bump over a comparable 5 series or the M6GC worth the premium over the M5. If I want a coupe then I feel it is worth it since the 3/4 series is a whole different animal entirely.

I see. Maybe there will be a good employee lease program for the M5 or 550i if you do not want another x bimmer. I love both the 5 and the x and, once my commute gets shorter, I am seriously thinking of getting another M car to keep the x5M company. The x5M reminds me of how much I miss having an M car.

Absolutely. It'll be the last car I buy until I retire in 2025.

Wow! You're really planning ahead! Does this mean that you're going to wait until you retire to do European Delivery? The younger the better for that, although I'll be 65 when I do ED on my M4 in 2016!

Curious John-- if you plan to buy it off the lease why not just buy it up front? I can imagine many reasons why actually (try before you commit, really good money factor for the lease, etc) but just wondering. And I really don't mean for this thread to turn into a buy vs lease debate-- in know we've had more than our fair share over the years.

Welcome to the very exclusive "I payed gas guzzler tax" club. What took you so long ? BTW, I like ZCP. The 19" forged style 359M wheels are great and the DDC is useful.

I'm not Jon but here is why I leased : you don't get the incentives if you buy it plus the residual is so high it is very likely you can buy the car at the end of the lease for much less than the residual.

My wife is a CPA. It is much easier to close her on a $500 payment right now than on a $60k something new car..

After being married for 24 years, I've got this all figured out.. Just like how I leased her a new 335i first and let her drive if for 6 months before discussing my new car.

Ha--I totally understand. That's how I got my wife to agree to my current 335-- good lease deal.

Jon, that is why I bought my wife a 535i M-Sport in 9/2011 before I can get a Z4 and now a M3...looks like I will still need to learn in the next 15 years to match you
