Unfortunately for the original tranny it didn't get it's first fluid and filter change until we got it at 85K miles. RIP at 102K miles. The factory rebuilt now in Marie is going to get a filter and fluid change every 15K so we'll see how it does. BMW tech that I know said he thought 150K was likely with regular fluid changes.
That was my other choice. I was going to just order the gaskets and filter screen separate so I could control the brand filter I was getting. Thanks! What brand gasket did you get? I'm at 161,000 on my autotragic and if/when it drops I'm going to swap in a 5sp I think. But my PO was pretty meticulous judging by the paperwork he gave me. Karl would love him.

I think my company is trying to bore me into using vacation time today. It might work.

Jon, I think the gasket I used was the Meistersatz brand going from memory. It's been like 4 years so it's a little fuzzy and I wasn't filing my receipts for this car initially.

Enterprise isn't exactly the capital of fun either. Although the Army Aviation Museum at Ft. Rucker is very cool. If you ever see a perfect condition 1977 white Trans Am, that's my uncle. It is the first car he ever bought. Had it restored, and he also has a 2001 Corvette with 20k miles, and neither is his daily. He has a Cadillac STS for that. Lucky dude, more money than sense.

Alright here's your Cliff's Jared (even though DF will go in and make it a much much better story),
I needed to reassurance on my transmission gaskets and filter, got it from Don, Ken K, and Ed.

Ken D. Applied to Turner Motorsports this AM. And we all hope he gets a job and institutes a Bimmerfest Discount of 75%.

Jen left for Grand Cayman, but did not take anyone with her that we know of (never heard if the 23 y/o Secret Santa from the other forum succeeded in turning her into a cougar).

And we all hate the smell of antifreeze, especially when mixed with the smell of oil at the same time. Patrick and Joey (VA Joey) need head gaskets done, Patrick would like to hire Ken D. to just come do it for him.

And last but not least, ice balls pelted Jesse's say bar on the way to work. Same thing happened to Patrick when he lived in DC, but he just sold the car afterwards.

Brad's sway bar broke, which you saw.

Think that's it.

Awesome, thanks for the rundown. I actually read all of it, but a summation all at once really puts the 'cherry on top'.

When did you join the CCA? Did you use me as a reference? Or Karl? Or Ken?

Go to a meeting! They'll put you to work. It's a lot of fun. The GGC is hosting O'Fest this year so I'm involved in quite a bit there. Just wait until you guys see the autocross course we're building.

It's my pleasure. I rather enjoy typing it. Plus I am bored to death at work today. As evidenced by the Calender thread which is now proof of how many of us are underemployed.

I joined last week, just in time to miss the monthly meeting by two hours. Then the next one is scheduled on Valentine's Day? Not sure why they did that? So I get to go first time in March I guess. I used Ken, I was looking at the forum and saw his logo and joined right then, so I used his number for a reference. I can't wait to go, it's something I'm really looking forward to going too. Hardly any forum members near me except for durtymd (who's in my chapter) in Columbia and MusicMike+ who never posts! I know Mike and see him around once in a while though. BTW why do they ask for your shirt size? Do you get a t-shirt or something?

Anyone here have a Kindle Fire, or tech savvy enough to explain something to me like a 2 year old? I downloaded an Ebook off Utorrent, and I cant figure out how to get it onto my Kindle Fire..

It downloaded as a Compressed file, and I tried dragging that into the Kindle Folder, no luck.
I opened that compressed file to reveal the 3 separate books, drag into Kindle Folder, no luck.

The books are listed as EPUB files, I have no idea what that is, but does anyone know how to get these dang books on my Kindle??

Damn this thread moves fast.

Go for it Ken!

Sweet E30 Elder Ken!

I've been terrible about keeping my pictures in one place lately, so I thought I'd take a few minutes to pull together the good ones from 2012 before it was too far gone.

It was a pretty good year.

Having a major "F*ck technology companies" day today.

The idiots at Lenovo have replaced 2 motherboards, and now want to replace the hard disk. How? By bringing a completely blank, untouched drive and slapping it in, and walking off with my old disk with all the data.

Then, I have to wait for Lenovo to snail mail me a copy of the OS, which I get to waste my time installing.

The Brother all in one there has now decided scanningor faxing documents is too boring, and it wants to change things up a bit. Every document it sends is an LSD trip with random bright colors everywhere, and it cuts each page into about 8 pieces and randomly rearranges them. Wtf. I'm assuming the scanner head ribbon cable, but who knows.

This is simultaneous to me needing to return the loaner at the other office and pick up the almost new Brother all in one they've had in for service for 6 weeks now for not playing nice with the network.

And finally, ATT has pissed me off enough that I canceled all their services and am going back to Comcast for internet and phone.

Oh! Almost forgot, this POS phone locks about every 3rd email I receive and just keeps vibrating for about a minute and then reboots. I'm ready to throw it at a brick wall.
