I love my e38
I would have never thought I'd get such great mpg out of a v8 this was taken when I got home after I drove through the hills in my neighborhood that kill my gas all the time. I was on the highway before that goin about 65.

The gas it says you use always comes back when you get back on a highway too!

I have to remind myself that a US gallon is less than an Imperial (i.e. UK/Australian) gallon (4.54609 litres - a US gallon is 3.785411784 litres) .... not that we talk in gallons anymore, but I'm showing my age by stating that I relate better to miles per gallon that I do litres per 100 km. I got 30.3 mpg at an average speed of 101 km/h (say 60 mph) on a run from Melbourne to Adelaide, which I think is pretty good for nearly two tonnes of car. So our US brethren are not necessarily heavier on the loud pedal, they just appear to get worse mileage than we do, as 21.5 US MPG = 25.8 AUS MPG. Hang on - they DO get worse mileage than we do!

OK, so I'm a klutz. Aren't US gallons bigger? Maybe we should stick to liters as we drive German cars??
