High speed mpg questions!
Would anybody by any chance know what mpg my 95 e38 would get at 125 an 150? I'm curious and haven't gotten the chance to reach that speed for more than a minute or so cause I don't need that big of a ticket yet haha!

Gas goes fast at those speeds. I've kept mine around 120 before. Idk say I got around 10 or 12 to the gallon??? Not positive I use about a quarter tank in 40 miles maybe it was a while ago.

At 220 mph, 15 minutes = 55 miles. Don't knew the tank size but were probably talking like 2.5 - 3 mpg. Now, you're not going that fast and don't have 4 turbos, but mileage wouldn't be pretty. You also can't go 150, you're limited to 128. Sent from my LG Revolution 4G using BimmerApp

I don't think I have a governor because the guy who have it to me (my grandpas friend) said he has had it up to 155 on the autobahn! I've had my car over 130 myself actually! Thank you for the help though y'all! I don't think I'm gonna speed unless I have the gas for it then haha!

That's awesome! I get 24.6 between 65 and 70 mph. I haven't had a chance to go faster for a long period of time. And what does the A in 740iA stand for? I've never heard of that before!

Yeah I just went researched it and now feel like an idiot hah! How can I tell if my car was made in Germany? I have a 95 740i also and I was told by my opi that his friend had bought it there and brought it back and forth when he would travel! The manual is completely in German and so is everything under the hood. I don't have an A behind my i though! So that's why I was wondering

Think there's a VIN decoder that will tell you, can't remember where I saw it.
Would LOVE to ship it back to the US when I move back in the next year or so, but not sure what it's going to cost for conversion. Mine is really a 1994 (late November) but the 1995 model year. Drove me nuts trying to figure out I needed to ask for '95 parts instead of '94. |

That's cool and I think it's a couple thousand! I actually thought mine was a 94 and found out it was a 95. The only problem with that is I heard you can't put a programmer in it cause the computer blocks it out on that year or somethin.

Not sure about the programer, haven't tried one. I did have the dealer change everything to English (was German). I'd tried to do it via the 'dash controls' but found out it's not possible to change, just view the settings.

Would a private import need 'converting' ? Europe and the US both drive on the wrong side of the road.
