Pet gate for rear cargo area...

Sorry for the repost but I need maximum participation! Lol

Does anyone know of a good quality NON RATTLING LIKE CRAZY pet gate for the rear cargo area of our X5s??? I didn't see a specific one from BMW and I'm skeptical about random universal fits unless anyone has first hand experience with them. It's for a medium-large breed dog...it's imperative I get this before transporting him in my Alpine White beauty!!! Here is a photo of the culprit:

I highly recommend a pet barrier from Travall. I bought one for our 2010 X5 and liked it so much, so I ordered another one for our 2012. Doesn't rattle or move, very solidly built.

They are located in UK, so shipping is expensive and you have to pay a nominal import tax. However, if you are looking for a solid pet barrier, this is it and definitely worth the cost. Even without a pet (such as us), this item is IMO a good investment in safety in the case you end up in an accident preventing things from flying around. Plus you can load the trunk area in the X5 with more stuff, luggage etc.

Don't know if it came clear from the review post, but the barrier comes with two (stability) bars that attach to the latches in the floor. If you have a removable liner or similar in the back you will have to drill small holes through it for the bars to go through. Not a biggie, just something you need to know.

Hi All
Anybody know if the travall will work in an E70 with the 3rd row? Of course this would be only if the seat is folded flat. I have a '13 35d still about a month out and need a barrier for our Golden Retriever. I like the look of the Travall and e-mailed the manufacturer with this question a week ago but as of yet no response. Has anyone tried it?

It should work with a third row as the barrier comes with two sets of bars (the ones that hook to the latches in the floor), one for 5-seater and one for a 7-seater. I PM'd you with the office manager's email address at Travall in case they don't answer you.

Yes, I noticed that from the pics on amazon. I'm still debating about getting a rear cargo cover in general since he would probably be sliding all over it! Haha

I had a metal pet barrier - it was such a pain for me whenever I wanted to remove it, and it constantly needed adjustment. Maybe they one I bought was garbage but I ended up buying a 1x2 piece of wood at home depot and used zip ties to secure it across the rear head rests. That was enough of a discouragement for my dog to stay in the back. Plus it was cheap and easy to remove.

Haha, I tried to make my own too but it was a fail! I also don't want it to look ghetto. But in my case, I'm not too worried about removal since I plan on leaving it in place.

What is it that you don't like about the Travall cargo mat? Does it not fit properly? It looks like it might be rollable for stowage behind 3rd row if that seat is up. I was thinking of buying the bundle of barrier and mat to get the discount, but will avoid the mat there is a better choice.

The rubber mat is actually not too bad and in the end I've decided to keep it. It fits very snugly, it's rather heavy so it will not move and it has a non-slippery surface (compared to the all weather liner sold by BMW/Weathertech). The non-slippery surface makes it ideal if you have a pet. It has also the cut-outs marked for the bar, you just need scissors or a knife to cut the mat.

My mat came with some type of light colored stains on it, that's why I initially didn't like it. However, as my X5 is used in business, the trunk area gets dirty fast, so the stains don't bother me anymore.
