E46 SULEV (m56) fuel tank

Hey guys I'm new here looking for help. I unfortunately purchased the 2003 e46 SULEV not knowing the fuel tank would cost 6k when the pump went bad. Is there any other alternative? I read somewhere that an e36 fuel tank would fit I guess. Would anything work because there is no way in hell ill be able to find a fuel tank in my current situation that's near by, and I don't know if the extended warranty still applies to my car.

Thanks

You did not say how many miles are on your car. My understanding is the SULEV warranty runs for 12 years/120,000 miles. You may want to check with the dealer to confirm this. Are you having fuel pump problems?

And welcome to Bimmerfest!

You should be covered under the SULEV emissions warranty, since you have less than 120,000 miles and the car is less than 12 years old. Some of the SULEV parts are warranted even longer, 15 years/150,000 miles. There is some conflicting information about which parts are covered for what time/mileage. Contact your favorite BMW dealer to be sure.

I may have a tank off of an 2003 SULEV if the warranty does not cover your tank.
