Water damage to on-board display

The window on my 1997 BMW 328ic E36 M52 was left open during a windy-rainy night, and when I found it the next morning, the inside was totally dripping wet!

Now the display (clock, consumption info, temperature display, etc) is just a foggy blur.

Can anyone advise me on how this can possibly be fixed (dryed out) or whatever?

You could put one of these in there and park it in the sun....

Ideally you remove it and put it in your oven at 160F for about an hour. If you don't want to remove it, you can use a hair dryer to warm it in the car, but you need to be very careful not to get it too hot.

I'd just take the 10 seconds required to remove the OBC, pour the contents of the DampRid into a disposable baking pan, and then place the OBC on a tray (or piece of foil, etc.) in the middle, and then cover the pan with a lid (or foil) to seal it off. Leave it there for a few days and hopefully most of the moisture will have been pulled out.

The rest of the car's interior could probably stand to have a DampRid or two left in there for a bit, too.
