Los Angeles area coding
Hey Guys,
Is anyone coding in the LA area? Not looking for tons of stuff but would love to get the auto mirror close, sport screen, TPM detail screen, close trunk from fob and button and maybe tkill the legal warning each time I start up. Its a 2011 550i with Dinan 2 but no real mods. ItsChase had contacted me a few months back and was more than happy to help. Sounded like an awesome guy but he has disappeared. Very much appreciate the help. John |

I'm looking for some help in the LA area, too. I'm actually kind of surprised there aren't more people coding in the SoCal area.
To the OP (TuffyBoy) - did you have any luck connecting with someone?

I've been helping people code their F30's for a while and shawn has been keeping me current with updates.
I'm pretty sure the same equipment & software will work on F10's too, the cheat sheet is just a little different. PM me if you are interested. I'm located in Ventura County. |

Sorry for my delayed response but I did PM Chase again after I posted this and he quickly responded, found the time and coded my F10. Awesome guy and I couldn't agree more with the positive comments about being a class act. Chase just bought a late model 750Li that is loaded and amazing. He let me drive it and if you haven't had the chance you should jump in one- his had the active steering and it could turn on a dime. Felt as nimble and small as my 5 series. Thanks again guys and really appreciate your support. |

Does he do all Bmw or just newer model, can he do E39. And is coding the same as remapping ?

Doesn't coding void your warranty?

He contacted me but has been very busy with work to meet. Maybe we can all setup a time to pay him a visit so that it won't inconvenience him too much when the time allows.

Hey guys, I'm out of town right now - ill be home for a couple days next week then I'm off again. I won't charge for coding under any circumstances - it's a community effort and should remain communal regardless. If anyone should be paid its Shawn, lol. I've been toying with the idea of suggesting a 'gratuity donation' fund for him because without his help and up to date files I would have been forced to stop coding a long time ago.
Anyway - I like the idea of having a central meeting place, it would streamline my already pressed time and maybe I could teach you guys how to code for yourself in the process. Does anyone know a place around Universal Studios (easiest for me) we could all meet and not be hassled by security? I can set a few hours aside this upcoming Wednesday (2/27). EDIT: A friend is borrowing my K+ DCAN cable right now so I can only code F series chassis. I have spotty luck with 2013's (sometimes it connects other times I get errors) and I will not code ///M cars (long story) nor will I code anything in the ACSM module (airbag/seatbelt stuff). +100 with props to Shawn. We wouldn't be anywhere without him and others.
I've been doing F30 coding meets at the LA Zoo. There's lots of free parting in the North-East corner and no hassles. You just have to contend with the bicycle people, they also use that area for staging their convoys. |

I have E90 so if for a chance you have the cable and able to do it let me know and I will be there. Thanks Chase
