Jen left for Grand Cayman, but did not take anyone with her that we know of (never heard if the 23 y/o Secret Santa from the other forum succeeded in turning her into a cougar).

And we all hate the smell of antifreeze, especially when mixed with the smell of oil at the same time. Patrick and Joey (VA Joey) need head gaskets done, Patrick would like to hire Ken D. to just come do it for him.

And last but not least, ice balls pelted Jesse's say bar on the way to work. Same thing happened to Patrick when he lived in DC, but he just sold the car afterwards.

Brad's sway bar broke, which you saw.

Think that's it.
This should cover Thursday up to Friday afternoon! Since then Ken D. Did get the interview at Turner! And Patrick and I both have granite counters. and I hope that Maui was awesome and that you enjoyed your trip! And I joined BMWCCA.

@Patrick mad? I cant picture you mad lol

Annnnnd I started my car and I saw the CEL flash as my car accelerated itself like I ran it without the ICV and Plugged it back in where it revs itself for a few seconds. Ken is right, theres some type of voodoo going under my hood
Sounds like the 2nd gear synchro is on it's way out. Try double clutching (like vin diesel). It shouldn't grind when you do that.

The trip was excellent. Some parts of Maui are so beautiful it's hard to believe it's real. We spent most of our time exploring the beaches, jungles, villages, etc. Definitely stayed away from the bigger resort areas as much as possible. Here are a few photos from the trip:

^Shutter released right before I nearly slipped and fell over the edge...

^The rental whip for a week.

^Black sand beaches; outdone only by red sand beaches.

Well confirmed my coolant leak is from the HG rear area. Didn't get a really good look at that plastic flange DC was talking about, but I'm confident it's from the HG. Guess it needs to tackled sooner rather than later.

Replaced the fuel filler hose, and clamp. I hope that fixes that issue. I want the car back in the garage!
The clamp was completely in two. The hose actually looked fine, but figured I'd replace anyway.

Wanted to replace the steering lines too, but the baby started fussing and woke up from her nap. So, fixit time is over today.

And I hate being under the car on jack stands...

Double clutching works for upshifts too. Before the invention of synchros that was how EVERY shift was made. Takes a little practice but you'll learn how to rev match pretty quickly.

Shifting up is the easy part, no real thought required. Shifting down is where it gets tricky.

Ken,

Good luck with the interview!

Matt,

My old roommate has an XDM in .40. It was very capable and reliable. IMHO it's ugly, but it's not meant to be looked at. Have you sourced one yet? Around here anything with a mag capacity over 10 is flying off the shelf. If your area's stock is like mine, it'll also be better to switch to .40. 9mm, along with .22lr and .223, is either sold out or ridiculously marked up. Gander Mountain usually comes in a little more expensive than local gun shops.

Karl,

Awesome pictures! I'll be in Kauai for the second half of February. Any suggestions for things to do? We havent decided which other islands to going to visit.

Yep, I'm a skinny dude (5'11"/145lbs). Disproportionately strong for my size, but still quite skinny.

I spent my entire time in Maui, so I can't really speak to what's cool in Kauai. If by any chance you visit Maui, driving the Hana Highway was completely awesome. I'd also definitely recommend snorkeling if you get the chance. The water is still super warm, and I saw all kinds of amazing fish, sea turtles, and coral reef. It will also be the height of whale season, too. Otherwise, I recommend that you never stay idle for more than a few hours. We spent our days on the move, constantly moving on to new things, and only spent enough time at our bed & breakfeast rooms to sleep. Getting up before dawn and having a full day was pretty key, since Hawaii isn't that special after the sun goes down at night.

Wow, looks like a great place to be this time of year...

Whenever I'm in the Cummins, the only time I use the clutch is going starting from 2. Every other gear slides right in with a little manipulation of the throttle. The trickiest shift of em all... 3 to 2. Ground gears many times trying to master that

still slightly under the weather....chest congestion just simply not give up...

went to the museum of modern art yesterday. i coordinated a bus trip and it was quite a bit of work. will probably be doing some more, as there are lots of places to go. we would have had a larger group, though, had we not had so many sick.

6 floors of the moma, went through the whole thing. there was some 'performance art' that had no description or explanation of what the performance was 'about'. this was on the main floor.

it was very strange. very much like the 6th floor. lots of strange art from japan. some of it was political. i don't particularly care for politics in my art.

there are always new things happening, though, as there were about 3 or 4 areas of installations in progress.

i also noticed that the crowd came in about 1:30 and stayed till about 5.

overall it was a good trip, and i will be planning more.

I just changed the oil on the 328 and oh my goodness the filter area had a surprise for me

I took off the filter cap and oil just blurted out. the oil didnt go down until i pulled the filter out and the filter cap separated into 2 pieces. it was a little bit of a mess under the hood

I need to start getting filters online for it cause that design advance auto is using is not good at all

but new oil and quiet m52 now
