535i: Do both wheels spin or is it a peg-leg?
I'm not good with the technicals on this so not sure where to look if there's an obvious answer. I was curious if this car had "Posi-Trac" (both wheels spin), or if just one wheel spins.

Ooohhh, I wanna know this too! There's nothing like posi on my 1971 Skylark...so I really hope our F10's have it!

Same here! It's so easy to get the tail loose on my car (when I want to), I'm assuming/hoping it has Posi, but it really got me curious the last time I did it.

As long as you don't have mud in your tires.

If one rear wheel spins faster than the other, the car automatically applies brakes to the spinning wheel to direct power to the other.

There haven't been "proper" LSD's in non-M series BMW's since the mid 1990's. We have "open" diffs which are fine for every day driving but not ideal accelerating out of a corner and a handicap at the track : (

Ah. So it seems like both wheels spin but one much more prevalent than the other.

Yes, turning off DSC/DTC and going WOT will result in a one tire fire.

I don't think even a tweaked out 500+HP 550 could actually pull off any proper donuts or actual drifting unless they upgraded to the M5 LSD.

This 535i can get the rear loose pretty well if you're trying to get it a little sideways, and it surely doesn't at least feel like a peg-leg when doing so. |
