2003 BMW 325Xi Wagon - Radio Will Not Work

Greetings!

I am new to this site and failry new to BMW. I absolutley love the cars. Strange issue with my wife's 325Xi wagon. The Business Radio seems to have taken a dump. At one point it displayed the word phone in the display area of the radio. I could not get the radio to turn off or on when pressing the on off button. It would not play music at all. Until one day it just went off. I pressed the on off button and the radio came on. It played for a day or so and then went off. The battery in the car later died. I replaced the cars' battery. I replaced the fuses for the radio, the little red light on the radio blinks, but the radio does not work. Could the radio be shot? I wouldn't think so, but I guess anything is possible. Any ideas out there? Many thanks to all of you. This is a great site!
