Z3 AC mixer control problem

Hi everyone I am new to this site, so this is my first post. Actually to this is my first post to any site so go easy on me.

I have a 2001 Z3 whose AC mixer control cable broke at the control knob. All I get is ice cold air and cannot turn up the temp. I pulled the mixer control panel out but have no idea how to access the knobs panel to repair it. I hope I am explaining things correctly here.

Can anyone give me some advice or are there any online insructions that might help so I don't have to tear out the whole dash board?

Actually I miss wrote. I pulled out the radio not the panel.
