What I am not a fan of and simply can't get my head around is this fetish for black wheels. I don't get it. BMW makes some of the nicest wheels in the business and they work very hard on the level of chrome contrast along with the flame surfacing. So when you go matte it kills the flame surfacing and all its great color gradient and then you black out the wheels which kills the chrome contrast.

Chris Bangle and 'flame surfacing' have left BMW many years ago. I don't believe it was a secret.

And, I can't think of another manufacturer that uses more frozen or matte finishes for special editions than BMW. As for "chrome contrast", I've no idea what you're on about.

As you can not, pardon the pun, wrap your head around why people do what they do, I can't wrap my head why you make some of the posts you do.
