Comfort Access

My understanding is that a BMW equipped with Comfort Access recharges the battery in the fob while it is inserted into the ignition slot. Question is how often should you insert the fob into the slot to provide for adequate charging? Second question, bought a new for and key from dealer, the fob locks and unlocks the car but will not start it eitherin the slot or in comfort mode out of the slot, advice? Thanks in advance.

It is the other way, comfort access fob has batteries CR2032 or so that need replacement. Other non CA fob needs to be put in the ignition slot for charge now and then.

Also a new key would have to be paired with the car.
Which they should of done when you got the key, depending on WHO you got the key from?
Also, you're near my area, where are you taking your car to?

Thanks,
I'm in E'ville, I was looking for some place close besides the only dealer in this city.
Did you get the key fob sorted out?

I will, have an appointment for the Adaptive Cruise. I guess the sensor is out of alignment and Paducah does not have the specific tool to align. Was going to go to Nashville unless you think ********** is a better solution?

I would say Nashville would be the better bet.
Good luck!
I don't know why it won't let that word through!

The best dealer in Kentucky is Don Jacobs BMW in Lexington. Great service advisors and a manager who gives a damn. Never had a problem there.
