Used M3 question

Would you guys consider buying a used 2010 M3 with 40k miles on it?
I have a 2010 335i, and was looking at moving to the M3. With all the high performance
components, I am concerned about how it holds up.

If they can provide maintenance records should not worry about it at least no HPFP problem like 335i.

From input of owners with M3's beyond 50k miles, it appears it is a very reliable vehicle. However following the recommended (or old school) maintenance schedule is important. I would recommend having an inspection done. Whether through a dealer or Indy.

OP, you could purchase an extended warranty through any BMW dealer. You may want to contact one of the forum sponsors for a quote. This would address any potential expensive items.

If the deal was right, I wouldn't hesitate to purchase an M3 with 40k miles.

Be prepare BMW ext warranty is not cheap.

Just by reading forums and my own experience (2 M3 in less than 5 years) I would say that this particular M3 generation must be one of the most reliable (if not the most) M3 that BMW have produced.

Thanks for the valuable input. If I do buy one, I'll look into the extended warranty.

I was not aware of the HPFP being an issue with this car as well. Had mine replaced on the 335i.

It's not.....he was referring to the 335i.........Phil

I got mine and its only 37k and I have no problems

Just received my 2010 M3 with 41,720 miles on it yesterday. I'll be keeping an eye on this thread!

Well, I did buy a used 2011 M3 with 29,500 miles on it. It is a CPO, with residual warranty. I purchesed the extended maintenance plan, and feel confident that it will not be a cash drain.

I will post any furure issues, if they should arise
