2014 X1 European Delivery Question

I am a new member. We are looking to order a 2014 X1 for a May 2, 2013 ED. We were notified today that no ED's for the X1 are available until May 14th. The explanation being that BMW won't have EPA approval until May 13th so no European Delivery until the 14th.

Can anyone confirm this????

Did you receive this information directly from BMW European Delivery or from your dealer?
I was told about a month ago by the ED Department that I could order in mid January fpr May delivery, but I did not ask about early May. If you are correct I will have to change some tentative plans I was making for a May 10 or 11 delivery date.

I received an email from ED department that estimated launch date is May 13th

I'm confirmed (E-mail from BMW with check in and car delivery times) for 5/13/2013 on my 2014 X1 just FYI. co.bmwusa.com website is offline, I was hoping to lookup my production number that way. I tried entering it in bmwusa's My Account but it doesn't seem to find my production number yet.

Congrats to edx1 on receiving a confirmation from BMW for 13 May. Question did you receive the confirmation directly from BMW or through you sales associate?

In response to an earlier question regarding who I spoke with. I spoke directly to the BMWUSA ED department on the east coast. They confirmed the X1 MY2014 expected date of May 13th. Pretty much confirmed what my local sales associate told me. The only difference was they told me I could not received a confirmed ED pick up date until such time as the config/pricing was released which probably wouldn't be for another few weeks.

I received a call from my CA in the morning and a few hours later received a "Reservation" e-mail from 'BMWEuropeanDelivery at bmwna .com' with the checkin time, vehicle delivery time, production #, and all sorts of information from travel, to fuel and ipod connection information.

As of yesterday pricing did not show for my CA either and no dealer packets on the 2014 x1. I also can't get the production # to link under my BMW account yet.

I just sent an email to my BMW sale associate to request the 13th.

My airline tickets are locked in for arrival 23 April (Barcelona) departing 15 May (Paris). We are soccer fans and hoping to catch some Champions League while we are on vacation. We were hoping to pick up the X1 on 2 May but is seems that can't happen.

I would love to do an ED, but canadians don't get a discount.

When your car was ordered was color, packages & options based on 2013 ordering guide?
I am asking because my CA wants to wait until 2014 ordering guides are out, and I would like to order so I obtain my preferrded ED date.

My order was based on the MY2014 ordering system. My CA could see all the info that he'll ever see (in the computer) for colors, packages and options however we still have no idea what is standard MY2014 nor what prices are so if you order now you have to be willing to accept these blindly. There is a chance dealer packets will have more detailed description on some items, an example is we found the MY2014 X1 has a new "concierge" option not on MY2013 that a dealer packet will likely have more information on, but it will likely read the same as any concierge option does on other models. I can completely understand most dealers wanting to wait until they receive the dealer packets so there can be no miss understandings. Myself and my dealer felt comfortable placing the order without all the information.

Thanks. What you said was very helpful and I will push my CA on Monday. I am looking at the first available delivery date which appears now to be May 13.

Same here. It looks like we can't confirm the delivery date without placing an unsure order now since price for the 2014 model has not come out yet.

I think CAs rather wait will they have all information then place the order for us, which can make their job easier.

The price is out. No change to MSRP but BMW assist is now standard.

Ultimate package is also cheaper for 2014.

I called my CA today and left a messaage about ordering. He did not call back so he is probably stalling. Does anyone know if there are any color changes?

Now I wonder how long you get bmw assist for before you have to pay a yearly fee...

A fully loaded 2014 actually comes out a bit cheaper.

Ultimate package is now $6150 but that includes BMW apps.

Lighting package is down to $900 but doesn't include automatic high beams a stand alone option for $250.

Where is the price sheet for the 2014's? It's not on BMWCONFIG yet.

Dealers just got them and they don't want them getting online yet.

I doubt we will see anything out in the public until mid Feb since prices take effect March 1st.

Would this clear the way for CA's to schedule ED's for 2014 X1's.

Ultimate package was $5000 so it looks like a huge price difference. BMW apps was $250 as a stand alone option. Any idea what else in the package?

Oh I just find that Ultimate package is $5000 because my choice is xDrive35i, very interesting...

It looks like the rest of it is the same as 2013.

There's a new 35i only option of 6 or 8 speed automatic....we wish.

Satellite radio is also now standard in Ultimate Package with one year sub.

Any change on standard feature for 28i sDrive? Is iDrive now standard?
