Carbon and Azurite are Blue and Citrin and Ruby are Brown. Are there any other Individual "Blacks" to account for? Last edited by dbs600; 01-22-2013 at 03:37 PM. |

Two very acurate pictures (best described as the darkest possible Bronze, when not able to see its Yellow/Gold, Green and Red/Pink flake):

I've only seen the Bronze Matte in the flesh. I'm definitely going to be looking that way in my next toy.

. I've had 3 Black Sapphires and I'm also thinking of Imperial Blue for my next one (or the Citrin for $1800).

True.
The order-sheets, however, don't show it either - and they tend to be quite accurate. What amazes me is that BMW made a press-announcement about it and than simply swept the exclusion under the carpet.

Some BMW Individual paints are $5,000; ones that haven't been produced in a while, are for different models, are matched to sample, are from different manufacturers, etc.

I found this link, which clearly says what's pictured is Citrin:
http://www.6post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=687853 But I'm still not sure, as when you look at the close up of the rear 3/4, you see no yellow/gold, green or red/pink flake; only flakes in the red and brown family, which is very similar to the former 6 Series c-pillar shot I posted. Here's another Ruby Black 6 Gran Coupe: http://www.bimmerfest.com/news/66654...ego-auto-show/ Whatever the case, the photos may not be acurate and Citrin looks Bronze in person, while Ruby looks Eggplant. Yeah, that's when it's getting nasty!
![]() But when it comes to the individual package and the leather dash, I think I found proof that we are indeed dealing with a wrong press-announcement: http://www.bimmerfest.com/news/62516...-3,-5-and-6er/ BMW Individual We are pleased to announce the release of BMW Individual on the 5 Series Sedan as of July production. The BMW Individual Composition package (ZI1) contains exclusive BMW Individual features and luxurious finishes including: Extended Merino leather upholstery 19" BMW Individual alloy wheels (all-season tires for xDrive, performance tires for RWD); not available for ActiveHybrid 5 Leather dashboard BMW Individual door sills BMW Individual trims Alcantara headliner Shadowline trim (or BMW Individual Satin Aluminum trim) And this is how an F10 BMW Individual in the US actually looks like: http://www.zibe.com/for-sale/new-201...91.html#Photos ![]() Doesn't look like a "leather dash" to me... |

Little known secret: you can combine anything you like... for a price, that is (don't get me started).
But looks like you're on to something! No leather dash on this auto either: http://www.eastbaybmw.com/detail-201...w-9873242.html Good representation of Citrin Black, however. |

I now know (recall) why this is happening:
The order guide uses options codes that are universal across the model lineup. Such that the 7 Ind Comp Pack is coded "ZI1" and has the leather dash, it's showing up as the same code - with the same content - for the 5 Ind Comp Pack, albeit the 5 has fewer actual features, no matter what the order guide says. Same happened in this thread, where the package for which "power" rear sunshades was to be a part of listed the 7's rear shades as being "manual" - when they were actually alwasy "power" - because the 5 Series had the same package, but with "manual" rear shades: http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=625079 If that makes any sense. Yes, that car is in FL.
Otherwise, window sticker on this car shows color as being $5k: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BMW-7...item3a7d8df17d |

1. You have to be very serious about going the route, as dealers would be furious to order such a car, only for you to back out upon delivery.
2. Work with the most highly respected dealer that's been around for a long time in your area. 3. Work with the most experienced salesperson at said dealer, even if it means ditching your current salesperson. Side note: Sales managers may purposely draw you away from the program (so they may mislead you, whether on availability or price), as it's not in their interest to order a car, only for you to back out upon delivery, as stated. Otherwise, there's no set number of colors and any color is in the realm of possibility. You see something on an 80's BMW, no prob, on a new Porsche, no prob. Only thing I don't think they do is the Land Rover multi-colored Spectral ChromaFlair paint. Are you considering a new toy? Last edited by dbs600; 01-23-2013 at 07:36 AM. |
