03 525i.. key will not lock doors..
Key fob won't lock doorsand It's wierdbecause when I physically put the key into the key hole on the driver's door and try to lock the door manually, it won't... And when I try to unlock or lock the door by pushing the lock button on the center console, it won't...
Key fob problems or car electronics problems??? |

Console button doesn't work if a door is open or ajar.
Manual lock/unlock requires you to turn the key all the way 90 degrees. Possible bad cell in key. Try the other master key. Can you start the engine with the key?

If you cannot lock or unlock the door either remotely or manually with the key or the inside switch, it sounds like a door lock actuator failure. When the actuator fails, it becomes physically impossible to unlock the door either remotely or manually with the key. If the door is locked, you must then damage the inside door panel in order to unlock the door to replace the actuator. If the door is unlocked, fix it now, immediately! If it locks, you are up the creek without a paddle. Search for my DIY on actuator replacement.
