Parking Brake Failure!

Hello,

Now I have a problem with my X5 3.0Si (2008). I got a yellow light "Parking Brake Failure!". Had same issue last summer, then the serviceman thought it was the battery, so I replaced the battery. Now it is back..

We have very cold weather right now in Sweden, can that be the reason? Anybody has a solution?

I love this car, but the last 6 months it has starting to be little much issues..

Had same problem had to get it reset at dealer as it finally locks on. Has happened three times in last eighteen months it seems there is a fault in brake adulatory approximate seven hundred pounds to fix.

So is this another issue, solely the result of BMW's electronics?

Iggy, off topic but since you are in Sweden -- has the new X5 done "the Moose test" yet? The last time I checked the last one that had gone through it (and passed) was an older X5 pre '07 I believe. Hope you get the parking brake gremlin out of there too!

We had the parking brake servo fail on our '08 X5 too (it would no release). Had to have it towed. Thankfully under warranty.

My X5 parking brake failed once and didn't not release. Had to use the manual release cable.

Never happened again. Also don't own the X5 anymore.
