Tire fitment , 2006 E60 525i

I am considering buying 18" wheel.
It's currently set up with 225/55 r16.
I know recommended fitment with 18" rim is 245/40 but the road condidtion here is not so great.
So I am also considering 245/45 to get more ride height.
Is this too much for E60?
I don't care much about speedo meter error and MPG but fitment issue.
Any other adverse effects by going for 45 profile?

Thanks
