Upgrade stock stereo with used Harman Kardon?

Is is reasonably possible to upgrade my 12 speaker stock 2012 X3 stereo with a used Harman Kardon system taken from a similar vehicle? Any chance if I could find someone who was upgrading their HK to a full aftermarket that this would then retrofit in my vehicle? It would be win-win for both of us.
