2010 535i xdrive Y cable question
I just got my car and in the center console there is no connection. There is a USB in glove compartment. I plug in the y cable using the USB and nothing happens. Am I missing some steps? Please help. I am beyond confused!

I have a 2010 550, (so I'm sure there are different options), but I do have the center console USB and Aux plug. That's where I have the Y plugged into. I tried both the "Y" and the Apple USB in the glovebox where I would prefer to have my I-pod and neither worked.

I agree, before I bought the Y cable I just used a USB to load music on the hard drive, though it is a PITA because if you want to add one song you have to remove the whole folder than reload it with that one song.

I finally figured out that the y cable won't help me bc I don't have the USB or aux in the center console. I'll have to get a flash drive and transfer music or use the aux input in the back of the center console to plug my iPhone in. I bought the car thinking it had aux and USB. But it's ok. It works fine with the aux cable. Thanks for all your help
